International Financial Institutions Initiative

Our work on IFIs is geared to assuring human rights and environmental law compliance of IFI projects and policy, as well as pushing for more effective access to justice mechanisms for victims or potential victims of IFI activity. CEDHA works to increase the transparency of IFIs , foster greater access to information and increase public participation in IFI policy development and decision-making.

Our activities include:

  1. Denunciation and use of access to justice mechanisms in cases where IFI activities has negative impacts on people, communities and the environment

  2. Active engagement in policy review processes of the IFIs

  3. Research and publications on human rights and environmental dimensions and impacts of IFI projects and activities

  4. Building the capacity of other civil society organizations to work on IFI advocacy
